Boost your ‘feel good’ endorphins with Xen-Do’s Winter Health Plan 7
If you have followed her advice in the previous articles you are already well on the way to a healthy and happy winter, here, Louise O’Driscoll, Xen-Do’s affiliated Holistic Health Coach, looks at how exercise releases endorphins to keep you feeling great.
If you are prone to depression or anxiety, exercise could be the best medicine. A workout boosts endorphins, our natural ‘happy’ chemicals – even just 30 minutes of moderate to intense activity 3-4 times a week can be as effective as anti depressant pills, boosting mood and reducing acute anxiety.
A training session can be the best way to deal with stress; well trained muscles release a chemical that interferes with the way stress affects our brains, meaning we are better able to deal with day to day pressures and less susceptible to stress related diseases.
