Body & Soul say Thank You to Xen-Do

Body & Soul say Thank You to Xen-Do

Following our Christmas Crisis charity drive, Xen-Do has decided to carry this on using a slightly different approach. Giving back to the London community still ranks very highly on our agenda in 2016 and what better way to help people than by giving them access to kickboxing and martial arts.

At Xen-Do we believe that everybody deserves the chance to a healthy and active life. We understand that, for some people, things can get in the way of this, such as access to equipment and training. That is why we have decided to support a local charity, Body and Soul, by giving away Xen-Do training kits to their 10-12 year-old members, also known as BaSe.

Body and Soul is a leading UK HIV charity that offers a wide range of support to those affected by HIV and their families. BaSe is the only group of 10-12 year-olds in Europe that are aware of how HIV affects them and are able to openly discuss it together.

An estimated 103,700 people are living with HIV in the UK. Stigma is still one of the biggest issues facing those affected by HIV, the young members enjoy using physical activities like kickboxing to tackle stigma and express difficult emotions whilst staying fit.

We are joining the fight against stigma, and it is great to see that Xen-Do, martial arts and kickboxing can provide some happiness, relief and positivity to those who may not otherwise have had access.

Body and Soul kindly sent us a letter to say thanks and let us know what the kids have been up to! Check it out above.
