Sensei Paul Jones

3RD DAN

Sensei Paul has always had an underlying passion for extreme sports and learning a Martial Art was to be another string to Paul’s bow as he pursued the next challenge in his life. After a couple of years training as a student, taking the next step and becoming a Sensei seemed the next logical course of action.

Sensei Paul previously spent nine years working as a chef, including five years as a head chef at a gastro pub in Hampstead. His knowledge of food is second to none so, if you need any dietary advice about healthy recipes or better ways to stay in shape, Sensei Paul is the one to ask.

Sensei Paul has competed with Xen-Do at the Spanish Open in 2018, 2019, and most recently in 2023. Each year Paul returns to the dojo on a high having brought back a gold medal and winning his rounds. You can see clips of Sensei Paul’s fights on our social media pages.

Away from the dojo, Sensei Paul is a devoted father to two children. He enjoys travelling, exploring new places and indulging his sense of adventure.

About Xen-Do, Paul says:

“It was a dream from a young age to learn a Martial Art. When I found Xen-Do in Camden I knew it was what I had been looking for. I have always had a competitive edge to my personality and love to push myself as far as I can. I played squash for my county when I was a boy and I also spent four years in the Royal Marine Cadets. I love all extreme sports.”
