Sensei Luca Marro

SENSEI

Sensei Luca grew up in a small region of Italy, Molise. Though Luca’s heart will always belong to Italy, he needed to explore to grow and that’s why in 2016 he moved to London. He found a job in a restaurant kitchen starting as a kitchen porter and working his way to become a senior chef. The hours were long, and Sensei Luca needed to find a sanctuary to relieve the stress of the kitchen.

In 2021 he found Niedō after walking past and hearing the students counting loudly through the window. He followed the sound up the stairs to the dojo, had his first class with Sensei Paul and never left. Sensei Luca has always had an interest in martial arts as he has family members that compete and train back in Italy and he followed their passion. He has had some experience in martial arts having trained for a while in Wing-Chun back in Italy when he was younger.

Sensei Luca’s success story has already started with Xen-Do. Since becoming an instructor, he has already travelled with the team to Barcelona in 2022 to compete in the Spanish Open (Under 75kg) and is fighting again in 2023. Sensei Luca is determined and focused, but as many of his students know, he loves to have a laugh throughout the day too.
